What is a mid-face lift?
The mid-face lift is a plastic surgery procedure designed to elevate the mid-face area and improve the appearance of smile lines and drooping or flat cheeks. By repositioning tissue and lifting the skin of the cheeks, the mid-face lift provides a more youthful and rejuvenated cheek contour. The mid-face lift may be performed on its own or in combination with other procedures like fat injection, a brow lift, eyelid lift, or facelift.

What does a consultation for a mid-face lift entail?
During a consultation for a mid-face lift, Dr. Naderi will examine your face, take a thorough medical history, and discuss your goals. All aspects of the procedure will be explained including the technique, the facility, the anesthesia, the recovery, the costs, the risks and so on.

What type of anesthesia is used for the mid-face lift?
MAC (monitored anesthesia care) or general anesthesia may be used for the mid-face lift.
How is the mid-face lift performed?
For a mid-face lift, incisions may be made inside of the mouth, along the lash line of the lower eyelid, and/or within the hairline. The mid-face area is then elevated in a subperiosteal plane and sutures or an Endotine device are used to suspend the area.
How long does the mid-face lift take to perform?
The mid-face lift takes about one and a half hours to complete.
Where are the incisions made for the mid-face lift?
The incisions for the mid-face lift may be made inside of the mouth, along the lash line of the lower eyelid, and/or within the hairline.
Does the mid-face lift leave scars?
The incisions made for the mid-face lift are well hidden inside of the mouth, along the lash line of the lower eyelid and/or within the hairline, resulting in small, well-concealed scars.
Does the mid-face lift involve much pain?
Patients may experience some tightness of the skin or other discomfort. Medication can help to control this.
What is the recovery like after a mid-face lift?
Recovery after a mid-face lift takes about one to two weeks. Patients should expect some swelling and bruising. The swelling can take several weeks to fade.
When will I be able to return to work after undergoing a mid-face lift?
Patients can return to work in about two weeks after the mid-face lift.
How soon will I be able to exercise after my mid-face lift?
Patients will need to wait at least two to three weeks after the mid-face lift before partaking in strenuous activities and exercise.
When will my stitches be removed after my mid-face lift?
External stitches are removed in about seven days.
What are the risks or complications associated with the mid-face lift?
All surgery carries potential risks. Those associated with the mid-face lift include possible edema for several weeks and infection.
Is the mid-face lift covered by insurance?
Mid-face lifts are usually not covered by insurance as they are considered cosmetic. However, patients should be sure to check with their own insurance company.
