Information for “Out of Town” & International Patients in Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland.
Information About Virtual Phone/Facetime Consultations And Travelling To See Our Doctors
We have compiled some useful information below for our patients coming from international locations or areas outside of the immediate Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Chevy Chase, Maryland areas.
We will help guide you through the initial consultation process, logistics, and surgery scheduling, all the way through your post surgery recovery, and even after your return home. We start the “long distance consultation process” by scheduling a Telehealth Consultation. You will then receive a surgery proposal by email and a patient coordinator will contact you to go over the next steps.
Sometimes patients will choose to come in for an in person visit prior to scheduling surgery. The in person visit is included with all Telehealth Consultations. Patient’s that are ready to move forward with surgery can schedule surgery and come in person for their preoperative appointment. Preoperative appointments can be scheduled close to surgery dates to help minimize necessary travel back and forth.
Deposit for surgery will be taken once you have secured a surgery date. Full surgeon’s fee payment is due 2 weeks prior to your surgery date. You will also be responsible for completing your pre-op testing with your primary care doctor within 30 days of your surgery date to ensure that you are medically optimized for your surgical procedure.
You will be meeting with your surgeon in person prior to your surgery date either 1-2 days prior upon arrival in our area or before that based on your travel plans.
Doctor Shervin Naderi, MD, FACS a Double Board Certified Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon
Final arrangements for surgery will be made once you’ve seen your surgeon in person.
For rhinoplasty patients we ask that most patients to remain in town for about a week. Cast removal occurs typically between 5-7 days after surgery, after which you can travel back home. A 1 month phone Telehealth phone post-op appointment will also be scheduled to monitor your healing progress.
All other surgical patients will be advised on required length of in town stay based on type and complexity of their surgery. We always love to see our patients in person for any postoperative or follow up appointments. We also understand that individuals are busy and travel may be difficult and that is why the Telehealth visits allow for us to stay connected and continue to monitor your healing and progress.
***Many of Dr. Naderi, and Dr. Kulak’s VIP, celebrity, or diplomat patients have used The Four Seasons Hotel in Washington DC for a luxury, private recovery post-op. Please ask our staff for more information.
***On the day of your in-person visit, you may be seen at one of our two office locations: The Barlow Building in the heart of Chevy Chase, Maryland or in our Northern Virginia office just minutes from Reston Town Center.
