Reconstructive & Corrective Procedures
Rhinoplasty/Nose surgery
Many people choose rhinoplasty to improve the appearance of their nose, while others have this surgery to correct underlying medical problems. One of the most common plastic surgery procedures, rhinoplasty can reshape, reduce or augment a person’s nose, remove a hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, or correct injury, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing.
All incisions are made inside the nose, where they are invisible, but sometimes an extremely small incision is necessary in the area of skin separating the nostrils. Once the nose is reshaped, incisions are closed and a splint is applied to help the nose retain its new shape during the healing process. Dr. Naderi does not routinely pack the nose to avoid discomfort for his patients. Usually patients go home the same day as the surgery and return to work about a week later.
Rhinoplasty is a major part of Dr. Naderi’s practice. His textbook chapters on the subject of revision rhinoplasty are used by many surgeons for training and education.
Secondary or revision rhinoplasty is a major part of Dr. Naderi’s practice and one of his areas of expertise. Revision rhinoplasty involves the correction of a nose that was operated on by another plastic surgeon. These cases are more difficult than primary rhinoplasty because there can be scarring, contracture and loss of cartilage from the previous surgery. However, major esthetic and functional improvement can be achieved in expert hands.
Aging face surgery
While the aging process is inevitable, living with its effects is not. Aging face surgery repairs sagging, wrinkled skin of the face and neck to give a younger-looking appearance. This surgery includes various techniques of cheek, neck and face lifts, neck liposuction, upper and lower eyelid surgery and rejuvenation, and minimally invasive endoscopic forehead and brow lifts.
Facelift
In time, gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces: deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jaw line slackens, and folds and fat deposits appear on the neck. Facelifts counteract these problems by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles. The result is a natural, more youthful look without a “pulled-back-tight” appearance! After surgery, some patients appear 10-15 years younger.
The procedure can be combined with a browlift, eyelid surgery or nose reshaping for more dramatic results, or it can be restricted to the neck (necklift) if the patient’s problems center there. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears, and scars fade to near invisibility in time.
Usually the procedure is done on an outpatient basis but some patients may choose a convenient one-night stay at the surgery center. Patients can often use make-up ten days after the procedure.
Forehead/browlift
If you often get asked if you are tired or angry, the problem may be the lines in your forehead and eyebrows. Browlifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, minimizing forehead lines and wrinkles, elevating brows back to their more youthful location and reducing lid drooping. The procedure is performed through small incisions at or behind the hairline with the aid of a fiber-optic camera (endoscope).
The muscles above the eyes are altered to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.
Eyelid Surgery
Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient’s field of vision. Blepharoplasty can be combined with BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow’s feet or dark circles under the eyes.
Incisions are made along the eyelids in inconspicuous places (in the creases of the upper lids, and just below the lashes on the lower lids). The surgeon removes excess tissue through these incisions and then stitches them closed with fine sutures. Eyelid puffiness in younger patients may be corrected by removing fatty tissue through a small incision in the lower eyelid that leaves no visible scars.
Mid-face lift
A youthful cheek contour and decrease in the smile lines can often be achieved through a mid-face lift. Hidden incisions are used to elevate the cheek to its original more youthful location and reverse the effects of gravity on the face.
Mini Cheek lift
Just need a touch up in the cheek or jowl area? Mini cheek lifts can be done to tighten just that area through small incisions hidden in the hairline and inside the ear. This is done during a short in-office procedure under local anesthesia with minimal swelling, bruising and downtime.
Facial implants
Facial implants can help you attain a fuller, more balanced look. Implants can add fullness to the cheeks, build up and balance a weak chin, enhance the lips with a natural feel, or smooth out deep naso-labial folds. They are made from a variety of safe synthetic materials and may be inserted in conjunction with other procedures such as a face lift. Most implants are placed through hidden incisions or through the mouth with no external scars.
Neck lift
A better neck contour and an enhanced profile can be achieved with a neck lift. During the procedure excess skin is removed, underlying muscle is tightened and the skin is draped back in a natural tension-free fashion. A neck lift can be done alone or in conjunction with a face lift.
Neck liposuction
Neck liposuction improves the neck contour by removing excess fat through a very small incision below the chin. This procedure can be done alone if overall skin tone and elasticity is good or in conjunction with a neck lift.
