No, Dr. Naderi says. He used to tell patients fall and winter were the best time, but as long as you're careful with sunscreen and a hat, good, effective medical skincare can be done year round, and yo-yoing between good skin and bad skin makes little sense.
Dr. Shervin Naderi, Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
Hey everybody, I want to talk about skincare a little bit. I have many, many, many patients, I mean thousands, over 20 years, who I have told in the past that the best time for skincare is obviously fall and winter, because if you're very outdoorsy, if you like to go to the pool, like to play tennis, like to play golf, you don't want to be doing procedures and products and then expose yourself to the sun.
However, there's a big however. There are people that live in Florida. There are people that live in Arizona, and they do skincare. Texas. I mean, you can't avoid the sun. It's basically summer all the time over there. So as long as you're careful, as long as you wear your sunscreen, as long as you wear a hat, then you can do proper, good, effective medical skincare year round. It doesn't have to wait for the winter. And in fact, it's kind of silly to be yo-yoing up and down. Good skin, bad skin, good skin, bad skin. You should just have good skin year round.
And that is the most important thing to do for yourself. Botox, sure. Fillers, sure. Surgery, maybe. But good skin, everybody. That's the thing that everybody sees first. That's the icing on the cake. That's the outer layer that a lot of people ignore, and it shouldn't be, because we can do magic with the skin. We have VISIA, which will show you all of the little nitty-gritty of the skin before and after treatment. We have one of the best master estheticians. We have an amazing dermatologist, Dr. Snodgrass. We have an entire team. So don't ignore your skin. Let's take care of it year round.
