Why Northern Virginia Patients Choose Dr. Naderi
Eyes That Look Rested, Never Done
Trained for the face and neck
Dr. Naderi is board certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He operates only on the face and neck.
Honest advice
He performs his own injectable treatments, so his advice isn’t skewed toward surgery. If filler or another non-surgical option will give you what you want, he will tell you, and if it won’t, he will tell you that too.
Recognized close to home
Newsweek has named him one of America’s Best Plastic Surgeons four years running. Washingtonian has selected him as a Top Doctor year after year, and he has been recognized as an Arlington Magazine Top Doctor.
A teacher of other surgeons
He has written textbook chapters on facial plastic surgery and served as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
His Approach
Less Skin, More Volume
Many surgeons still remove a lot of eyelid skin. That older technique tightens the lids, but it can leave people looking older and sick instead of rested. Dr. Naderi removes skin only where it truly needs to go and restores the volume the eyes have lost with age, often with fat grafting using your own fat along the upper eyelid, the bony rim under the brow and beneath the lower lids.
Lower lids are always done through an incision hidden inside the lid, with no cut on the skin. He removes the fat that causes the bags and often adds fat grafting to smooth the hollow beneath them. Repositioning the eyelid fat is saved mainly for patients who don’t have fat to spare elsewhere.
The brow comes first. In Dr. Naderi’s experience, about 9 out of 10 older patients who come in for upper eyelid surgery also need their brow reset. If the brow is low and only skin is removed, the brow can be pulled down further and the hooding at the outer corners stays, which is why he often pairs upper eyelid surgery with a brow lift.
Eyelid surgery is usually the right answer when:
- Extra skin folds over the crease and eyeshadow disappears into the fold.
- Your upper lids look heavy or hooded and make you look tired when you aren’t.
- Under-eye bags don’t go away with sleep or creams, or cast a shadow that looks like dark circles.
Dr. Naderi steers most patients away from tear trough filler, which in thin under-eye skin can cause swelling and a bluish-gray bag that lasts for years. For a minimal improvement, PRF gel injections are an option, and for a real hollow, fat injections. Neither one removes bags; when the bags themselves are the problem, lower eyelid surgery is the lasting fix.

Consultation in Reston
Meet Dr. Naderi at our Reston office, a short drive from McLean and Tysons, or start with a virtual consultation. He examines your eyelids, brows and cheeks together to decide what will actually help. The consultation fee goes toward your surgery, and your pre-op visit is here too.
Surgery day
General anesthesia in the operating room at Prince William Surgery Center in Virginia, given by board-certified anesthesiologists who supervise nurse anesthetists. Upper lids take 60 to 90 minutes, upper and lower together about two hours. You go home the same day with a responsible adult.
The first two weeks
Upper lid stitches come out at your first visit, about a week after surgery. No flying for 7 to 10 days, and no eye makeup or contacts until Dr. Naderi clears you. Most patients are back at work in 1 to 2 weeks and look presentable in about 10 to 14 days.
One month and beyond
No strenuous exercise for a month, full activity by about 3 months, and final results at 3 to 6 months. Follow-up visits, at 1 week, 1 month and typically 3 months, are scheduled in Reston.

Cost
What Eyelid Surgery Costs
Each price includes Dr. Naderi’s fee, general anesthesia, the surgical facility fee and all follow-up visits. Where you fall in the range depends on how much skin and fat need treatment, whether fat is removed or added with fat grafting, and whether you add another procedure in the same surgery. Pre-surgery medical clearance and lab work are arranged through your own doctor.
Eyelid surgery is cosmetic, so it is not billed to insurance. Your consultation fee goes toward your surgery, your exact quote follows your consultation, and financing through Cherry is available for qualifying patients.

Questions
Eyelid Surgery Questions from Northern Virginia Patients
Do you have an office near McLean, Arlington or Alexandria?
Our Reston office at 1850 Town Center Parkway is a short drive west of McLean and Tysons on the Dulles Toll Road, and an easy drive from Arlington and Alexandria. We also have an office in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and offer virtual consultations.
Where is the eyelid surgery performed?
In the operating room at Prince William Surgery Center in Virginia, under general anesthesia given by board-certified anesthesiologists who supervise nurse anesthetists. Dr. Naderi has been the center’s medical director since 2023.
How much does eyelid surgery cost?
Upper eyelid surgery is $8,000 to $15,000 and lower eyelid surgery is $8,000 to $15,000, including Dr. Naderi’s fee, general anesthesia, the surgical facility fee and all follow-up visits. Cherry financing is available for qualifying patients.
Does insurance cover eyelid surgery?
No. Eyelid surgery at The Naderi Center is cosmetic, so it is self-pay and is not billed to insurance. Cherry financing is available if you would like to pay over time.
Will eyelid surgery leave scars?
Upper eyelid scars sit in your natural crease and are hidden when your eyes are open. For lower eyelids, the incision is made inside the lid, so there is no visible scar on the skin.
How long is recovery from eyelid surgery?
Most patients are back at work in 1 to 2 weeks and look presentable in about 10 to 14 days. No strenuous exercise for a month, full activity by about 3 months, and final results at 3 to 6 months.
When can I drive after eyelid surgery?
You can drive once you are no longer taking the prescription pain medicine and there isn’t much swelling left on your eyelids. On the day of surgery, a responsible adult needs to drive you home.
Do I need a brow lift too?
Sometimes. In Dr. Naderi’s experience, about 9 out of 10 older patients who come in for upper eyelid surgery also need their brow reset, because removing skin alone can pull a low brow down further. He checks your brow position at your consultation.
Can I have upper and lower eyelid surgery at the same time?
Yes. Together they take about two hours, and you have one recovery instead of two.
