PRF Injections in Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland.
Advanced Platelet-Rich Fibrin for Facial Rejuvenation and Hair Restoration
The Naderi Center for Plastic Surgery and Dermatology provides Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) injections through its advanced EZPRF system which delivers next-generation regenerative treatment that uses patient’s natural healing mechanisms to produce collagen, as well as enhance skin quality and support hair growth.
PRF is a natural, additive-free evolution of platelet-based therapies. Our clinic uses this treatment for three specific applications, which include under-eye rejuvenation (tear troughs), facial skin revitalization and scalp treatments for hair thinning and hair loss. At The Naderi Center, all PRF procedures require execution by physician providers, who are board-certified plastic surgeons and dermatologists, to deliver expert treatment and secure safe results that match patient needs.

The Benefits of PRF Injections
Sustained, Natural Regeneration
The PRF system delivers growth factors in controlled intervals which sustain collagen production and tissue regeneration, resulting in an aesthetic progression of natural beauty over time.
Improved Skin Quality and Texture
PRF thickens the skin and adds firmness. As the tissue gains strength, the crepey surface is refined. Elasticity improves, as well as the skin returns to a smooth, healthy look.
Natural, Progressive Enhancement
The PRF treatment uses your blood for its entire composition without any added additives which leads to results that create a natural appearance that matches your individual look.

What Is PRF?
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is created from a small sample of your own blood and contains a concentrated blend of platelets, white blood cells, and growth factors suspended within a fibrin matrix. Unlike earlier platelet treatments, PRF is processed without anticoagulants or synthetic additives, allowing it to function more like a natural healing scaffold once injected into the skin or scalp.
At The Naderi Center, we use the EZPRF system, which produces high-quality PRF products through its advanced multi-step centrifugation process. The treatment of sensitive areas, particularly the under-eye region, needs this level of control to achieve optimal results.
Common Uses for PRF at The Naderi Center
Under-Eye and Tear Trough Rejuvenation
PRF can improve the appearance of dark circles, crepey skin, and early under-eye hollowing by stimulating collagen production and improving skin quality over time.
Facial PRF Injections
Throughout the face, PRF can be utilized to enhance the skin tone, texture, and firmness for a well-rejuvenated look without any artificial fillers being used.
PRF for Hair Growth
Platelet-rich Fibrin (PRF) is injected into the scalp to support follicular health, strengthen existing hair, and promote regrowth in cases of hair thinning.
PRF vs. PRP: Why PRF Is More Advanced
While PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) has been used for many years, PRF represents a significant advancement in regenerative medicine.
PRP releases growth factors rapidly and contains anticoagulants that limit how long those growth factors remain biologically active. PRF, by contrast, forms a fibrin network that slowly releases growth factors over time, allowing for prolonged collagen stimulation and tissue regeneration.
Because of this sustained release, PRF may offer:
- Longer-lasting regenerative effects
- Improved skin texture and elasticity
- Enhanced tissue healing and support
- A more natural biologic response
This makes PRF particularly well suited for under-eye rejuvenation and facial skin quality improvement, where gradual, subtle enhancement is preferred.
PRF Injections vs. Dermal Fillers: Setting the Right Expectations
PRF injections and dermal fillers serve very different roles in facial rejuvenation and should not be viewed as interchangeable treatments.
PRF is a regenerative therapy, not a structural volumizer. While it can improve skin thickness, texture, and overall quality, it does not consistently restore lost facial volume, particularly in areas such as the cheeks or deeper tear trough hollows.
In the under-eye region, PRF may be appropriate for patients whose primary concerns include thin skin, crepey texture, or early hollowing. However, for patients with moderate to significant volume loss, PRF alone is unlikely to deliver the level of correction that dermal fillers can provide.
The Naderi Center uses PRF as a skin-quality enhancer while reserving dermal fillers for instances that require actual volume restoration. A combination approach will be recommended for patients who need both structural support and biological restoration. A physician provider must conduct proper evaluation to find the best treatment plan for each patient.
What to Expect During Your PRF Treatment
Patients typically arrive approximately 30 minutes before their appointment because they need time for the application of topical numbing cream to the treatment area which will provide them with comfort.
A small amount of blood is then drawn and processed through a multi-step centrifugation technique to isolate the PRF using the EZPRF system. Once prepared, the PRF is carefully injected by one of our physician providers into the targeted areas.
The treatment leads to mild swelling and potential bruising, which especially affects sensitive areas like the under eyes. The initial swelling will decrease throughout the following days. Initial swelling typically subsides over the next few days. Some patients experience immediate fullness that improves progressively during the following weeks because their body undergoes collagen stimulation and tissue regeneration.
For optimal results, a series of PRF treatments spaced a few months apart is generally recommended, with maintenance treatments based on individual response and goals.
Preparing for Your PRF Injections
Thoughtful preparation helps ensure high-quality PRF and optimal results.
Patients should avoid medications and supplements that may interfere with platelet function for two to four weeks prior to treatment, including aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, fish oil, omega-3 supplements, vitamin E, and garlic supplements. If any of these are medically necessary or prescribed, patients should obtain clearance from their physician before stopping them. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is safe to take, as it does not affect platelet activity.
The body requires water for its basic functions. Patients need to consume 64 ounces of water before their treatment day and should arrive at their appointment with proper hydration. The treatment area needs to be moisturized before the actual procedure.
The application of topical retinoids, retinol products, as well as exfoliating acids, needs to stop for three days prior to treatment and three days after treatment. The treatment period requires this pause because it helps to decrease the chances of developing excessive redness and skin irritation.
Recovery and Results of Platelet-Rich Plasma
Most patients are able to return to normal activities shortly after PRF injections. Mild swelling or bruising may occur and typically resolves within several days. The PRF treatment starts to show some early results but progresses through multiple weeks to achieve its full effect of collagen production and tissue enhancement.
Results tend to appear natural, progressive, and refined rather than immediate or dramatic.

PRF Injections: Frequently Asked Questions
How many PRF treatments will I need?
Many patients respond well to multiple treatment sessions that occur a few months apart. After this initial phase, they continue with maintenance sessions. The schedule for those follow-up visits depends on the patient's personal goals and how the body reacts to the treatment.
Is PRF better than PRP?
PRF therapy is viewed as more advanced because it releases growth factors for an extended period and contains no additives. This sustained release potentially supports tissue repair over a longer time.
Can PRF replace dermal fillers?
PRF does not serve as a dependable replacement for fillers in cases that require the restoration of structural volume. It is best used to improve skin quality rather than replace lost volume.
Is PRF safe for under-eye injections?
Yes. When performed by experienced physician providers, PRF is well suited for improving under-eye skin quality because it is entirely derived from your own blood.
Does PRF help with hair loss?
PRF can support hair growth by improving follicle health and scalp circulation, particularly in patients experiencing early hair thinning.
What is the downtime after PRF injections?
Downtime is minimal. Mild swelling or bruising may occur and usually resolves within a few days.
When will I see results from PRF?
A person often sees a small change within the first days, but the buildup of collagen and the renewal of tissue continue develop for many weeks.
