What is Belotero?
Over time, the skin and muscles of the face will begin to lose their elasticity, slowly sinking downward. Eventually, this may cause the appearance may take on a sad, frustrated, and unwell look. Dermal fillers are designed to combat this early sign of aging by restoring a lifted, smooth, even texture to the skin. Belotero is one of the newest and most effective fillers on available today. This injectable can safely restore a youthful, healthy appearance.
Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Belotero is used to treat the fine lines that appear around the mouth. The injectable also provide excellent correction for Crow’s Feet (lines at the corner of the eye) and Marionette Lines (creases from the nose to the lips), as well as mild to moderate lines and creases around the face. Unlike some dermal fillers, Belotero has a thin consistency, making it excellent for delicate areas such as underneath the eyes and around the mouth.
Belotero is comprised of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a substance unique in its ability to mesh with existing cells to gently plump the tissues. Hyaluronic Acid is a building block for healthy skin structure. Occurring naturally in the body, HA provides form and shape to the features. The Ideal Candidate For Belotero
Any patient experiencing hollow areas under the eyes, fine lines around the lips (Smoker’s Lines), or Crow’s Feet may find success in Belotero. It is safe for all skin types and ethnicities. The ideal candidate will be in generally good health, have an understanding of the treatment, and hold reasonable expectations for the results.
Prior to scheduling a Belotero session, a consultation will be performed at the Naderi Center. This provides a time for the surgeon to perform a skin evaluation, review the medical history, and listen to the patient’s aesthetic wants. Our skilled providers will explain all of the available treatment options, as well. If Belotero is determined to be right for the individual situation, a personalized treatment plan will be created.
The Belotero Procedure
All noninvasive treatments are performed in the Naderi Center’s office-suite. Injections with Belotero will take less than 30 minutes to complete. The practitioner will gently place the dermal filler along the predetermined area with a very small needle. While the treatment is not considered painful, a local anesthetic may be used to maximize patient comfort. Patients are out of the office and back to their routine that same afternoon.

Potential Risks From a Belotero Treatment
Belotero is considered extremely safe and efficient when applied by an experienced, well-trained cosmetic surgeon. Side effects, while minimal, can include redness and swelling at the injection site, discomfort, and bruising. These will resolve after a few days. More serious complications, such as infection, facial asymmetry, or nerve damage are rare; these are best avoided by only trusting the appearance to the best provider available.

There is no downtime required, after a Belotero treatment. Patients are able to return immediately to work or school. For the first several days, mild swelling, redness, and bruising may occur at the injection site.
The results from Belotero injections can be seen immediately. These will continue to improve over the next several months, as the body’s natural supply of Collagen increases. Results can last six to twelve months, possibly even longer. Once the benefits start to fade, a quick repeat Belotero treatment will maintain the results.

Are Belotero injections painful?
The Belotero procedure is not considered painful, but patients will feel a pinch or pulling sensation. To increase patient comfort, a topical anesthetic is normally applied 30 minutes before their procedure.
After Belotero injections, how soon will I be able to return to work?
Patients are able to return to work or school the same afternoon as their Belotero procedure. Some light swelling or redness may occur, but these quickly dissipate.
How long will the results from Belotero last?
Belotero is long lasting; patient do not normally need a repeat treatment for six to twelve months.
