Our Maryland office is in the Barlow Building at 5454 Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase, about a mile and a half south of downtown Bethesda. By Metro it is one stop from Bethesda to Friendship Heights on the Red Line, and the office is a block from the station.
Patients come to us from Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Northwest Washington DC and across Montgomery County. PRF gel and under-eye filler are done in this office. For fat injections or lower eyelid surgery, your consultation, pre-op visit and follow-up visits are scheduled here, so surgery day is the only trip to Virginia.

PRF, platelet-rich fibrin, is made from a small sample of your own blood and prepared as a thick gel. It stimulates collagen to thicken thin under-eye skin and has a soft, filler-like effect. Treatment starts with two sessions 6 to 8 weeks apart, then once a year.

For a true hollow, a small amount of your own fat is purified and placed as micro and nano fat along the tear trough, usually with some volume in the mid-face. It is done in the operating room under general anesthesia, and the final result is typically seen at about three months.

Why Filler Is Not Always the Answer
Tear trough filler became very popular almost two decades ago. Over time, doctors learned that in thin under-eye skin it can look good for a few weeks, then cause swelling and a bluish-gray bag that can last for years. That is why our physicians look for the cause before choosing a treatment:
- Bags that cast a shadow are treated with lower eyelid surgery, not filler.
- A true hollow is treated with PRF gel when it is mild and with fat injections when it is deeper.
- Thin, crepey skin responds to PRF gel, which stimulates collagen.
- Pigment is a skin problem, treated by our cosmetic dermatology team. Adding volume does not change color.

Fat injections and lower eyelid surgery are done by Dr. Naderi under general anesthesia at Prince William Surgery Center in Virginia. If you need it, we can arrange a car to and from the surgery center.
Follow-up in Chevy Chase
PRF maintenance is 6 to 8 weeks after the first session, then once a year. After surgery, follow-up visits at one week, one month and typically three months are scheduled here.

What Under-Eye Treatment Costs
The cost depends on which treatment fits the cause of your hollows. These are the prices from our menu of services.
Surgical prices include Dr. Naderi’s fee, anesthesia, the surgical facility and all follow-up visits. Pre-surgical medical clearance and lab work are arranged by you, and your consultation fee goes toward the cost of surgery. Insurance does not cover cosmetic under-eye treatment. Prices are subject to change; see the full menu of services. Financing through Cherry is available for qualifying patients.

Who performs under-eye treatment at the Chevy Chase office?
Physicians only. Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Alexandra Snodgrass performs PRF gel injections, and only physicians inject filler. Double board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Shervin Naderi performs fat injections and lower eyelid surgery.
How much does PRF under the eyes cost?
PRF gel is $2,300 for the initial treatment and $1,800 for maintenance within a year. Under-eye filler is $1,500 per syringe.
Can filler placed elsewhere be dissolved?
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, which we keep in both offices, including Chevy Chase. Our physicians evaluate filler from other practices and plan the correction with you.
