Where Should Filler Go for Nasolabial Folds?

Dr. Naderi starts up high, at what is now called the piriform aperture, because he thinks that is where most nasolabial folds benefit. The goal is not to erase the fold completely, because that gets very full, but to keep it from cracking too much.

When you look at the nasolabial folds, if you kind of do this, you'll see where it wants to crack. And again, we don't want to eradicate it completely, because it gets really full, but we don't want it to crack too much. So we're going to correct that. Start up high.

It's funny, everybody's now talking about piriform aperture injections. If you look at my videos from almost 20 years ago, that's where I was putting most of the injections, because I think that's where most nasolabial folds benefit from, up high. But there was no catchy label, there's no Instagramming it. That's just what it was.

The beauty of Vollure and Volbella is they can be injected more superficially, whereas the other fillers can't, and it treats this area very nicely.
