What Does Kris Jenner's Facelift Teach Us About How Long Results Last?

Dr. Naderi says the first pictures of Kris Jenner's facelift were filtered, and that a facelift on a 70-year-old cannot be compared with one on a 40 or 50-year-old because the tissue is not the same. The initial result is the surgeon, he says; how long it lasts depends on the patient's own tissue.

Key Points from Dr. Naderi

  1. No lines, no wrinkles, no shadows and no blemishes in a photo is a filter, not an actual result.
  2. He tells surgeons claiming their technique would last longer that they have not operated on her and cannot know.
  3. A deep plane lift gives a nicer, sharper definition of the neckline than a SMAS lift, imbrication or plication, because the glide planes are fully released.
  4. He loves the deep plane facelift, but on a 70-year-old you have to be realistic.

Kris Jenner's facelift. It almost broke the internet a few months ago when she got the facelift by Dr. Levine. Everybody went crazy for it. Everybody wanted to know who the plastic surgeon was. He was a hero. But when I was looking at the pictures, all along I was telling people, dude, there's AI involved. There's filters involved. Yes, she looks great. Yes, he did a great job. But when you have no lines, no wrinkles, no shadows, no blemishes, that's a filter. That's not an actual result.

Fast forward a few months. Somebody caught her at a public event. The paparazzi took a picture of her, and then people started commenting, ooh, maybe it's not as good as we thought it was. Fast forward a few more months. Now the internet is breaking down again, with people saying, oh, she's so upset because her results are not lasting long.

Let's talk about a couple of things. First of all, all these plastic surgeons were jumping on social media, making posts about, my technique is better, I do this, I do that, my technique lasts longer. Stop. When you're doing a facelift on a 70-year-old, you cannot compare it to doing a facelift on a 40 or a 50-year-old. The tissue is not the same. You can do a fantastic job, but the patient's own tissue has to kind of hold things up. So if the surgeon did a great job and the thing looks great at three months, you expect that to last 15 years? Well, the surgeon is not standing there holding your face up.

Now, the results, whether it's deep plane versus a SMAS lift, SMAS imbrication, SMAS plication, that's where you notice the result initially. A deep plane lift gives you a much nicer, sharper definition of the neckline. It just does a greater job. The lift is coming from the platysma and from the SMAS, but the glide planes are being fully released to a point where everything kind of lifts up nicer, versus trying to really pull it from back here during a SMAS lift.

So the initial result, that's the plastic surgeon. How long it lasts? That's you. That's the patient. So to all the people saying you do a better job, you have not operated on Kris Jenner. You have no idea how your results would have lasted on her. You have to take everything with a grain of salt. There's pros and cons. I love the deep plane facelift, but on a 70-year-old, you have to be realistic.
