Submentoplasty and Buccal Fat Removal. This patient was mostly bothered by the fullness under his neck and lower cheeks and desired overall improvement in his lower face contour. First, Dr. Kulak easily with tiny imperceptible incisions without a major neck lift removed his submental (neck) fat and used liposuction to contour the neck area. A micro-cannula is used which allows for faster healing and less potential for scarring. The next portion was the buccal fat removal. Buccal fat pads are located beneath the hollow area under the cheekbones—everyone has them, but some are more pronounced than others.
