Question: My teenage daughter has some fine lines on her face that I think were caused by stress. She wants to have BOTOX injections, but I think that’s a dangerous idea. How would BOTOX affect someone that young?
Answer: I think the “dangerous idea” is the idea of a teenage girl being this focused on her looks at such a young age. I rather see she get immense love and affection from her parents so that she does not care about a few wrinkles. I also suggest taking her to a psychologist so she can be seen and helped with therapy especially if she has Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). I don’t think there is anything significantly unsafe about Botox but I do not think Botox for cosmetic purposes should be offered to teenagers. You have your work cut out for you. This is going to be tough and if you don’t deal with it now she may end up going down the path of plastic surgery addicts like Heidi Montag.
