I had a C02 laser treatment on my face 3 weeks ago. I was told not to exercise for at least a month after the treatment. I did work up a bit of a sweat as I was cleaning yesterday and now there are some areas on my face that are very red. Should I be concerned? Could I have done anything to ruin the effects of the treatment?
It is very common to have redness for several months after any type of resurfacing procedure. Redness will often worsen with exertion and exercise but will resolve over time. During this initial recovery period, the skin is more sensitive and will more easily get red with exercise. At three weeks since your CO2 laser resurfacing, you most likely didn’t do any damage to the new skin in place. The redness should resolve and over time your skin will be less sensitive to exercise with less resulting redness.
