How soon after my facelift surgery can I go out in public without looking like I just had a facelift or was in an accident?
Most patients feel they can go out in public around two weeks after they have had a facelift. Each person is different in the amount of bruising and swelling. The worst of the swelling and bruising is between 2-3 days after your procedure. It is common to be distorted in appearance and even have an asymmetric amount of swelling in your cheeks during your first week of recovery. By two weeks though, most discoloration from bruising will resolve or be light enough to be covered up with makeup. The sutures and staples are usually all removed by one week. Most patients feel comfortable going out in public at two weeks, and some will even go back to work. By one month, most patients have returned to their normal routine and are ready to show off their rejuvenated appearance.
