Question: Since my rhinoplasty a month and a half ago, I have a vein on the top of my nose that seems swollen and occasionally burns. What could this be and will it go away?
Answer: Telangiectasias or neovascularization after any cosmetic surgery such as a facelift or rhinoplasty are common. IPL or Pulsed Dye Lasers (PDL) or KTP lasers or YAG lasers can all be used to shrink down the vessel. I would suggest you see your doctor to make sure everything is OK then wait a few months after that to see if the vessel will improve on its own but if not you may be able to use one of the lasers above for this red blood vessel.
