Question: There seem to be a lot of different lasers used for laser skin resurfacing. Does it make that much of a difference which laser is used? What are some of the more common or more effective lasers and what are they appropriate for treating?
Answer: There are many cosmetic laser companies, brands, wavelengths and each has its purpose. For example a Pulsed Dye Laser or PDL is great for treating facial spider veins or telangiectasias but wont treat wrinkles. For wrinkles, Erbium and CO2 lasers are used. Various companies are better known such as Lumenis, Candela, Palomar, Sciton, Fraxel, etc. Each laser has its advantages and disadvantages.
