Question: I am scheduled for rhinoplasty and now I realize that I didn’t get all of my questions answered. After the surgery, what type of bandage is put on my face? Will it cover my eyes? Will I be able to change the bandage myself at home? How long does it have to stay on my face?
Answer: You probably did not meet with me because I spend a long time during the consultation to make sure I go over everything and make sure all of those questions are answered. Furthermore, we have a comprehensive “pre- and post-surgery instructions” section on the website:

You should make sure you go back to your own surgeon and have him answer these questions for you because each plastic surgeon has his or her own post-op routine. As for my patients, they get a small tiny cast on their nose after surgery with no packing usually. It does not cover the eyes. It stays on for 5-7 days and then I take it off for them. Other plastic surgeons may use larger casts that do cover the forehead or cheeks and may use internal packing. Some make you tape your own nose for weeks to months after your nose job. It just depends on the cosmetic surgeon.
