Question: I have my rhinoplasty scheduled but have just developed a tooth infection. Will my surgery need to be postponed and why?
Answer: Your rhinoplasty needs to be postponed till your dental infection is resolved. It is not safe to undergo elective cosmetic surgery when you are infected or have fevers. You have to be at your optimum medically. Anesthesia weakens your immune system briefly so your tooth infection can get worse. The infection may spread to your nose. Its just best to wait and treat the infection first.
