Question: During the recovery period from a rhinoplasty, is it expected that my skin will be red and irritated until it heals completely?
Answer: Your skin can change in color and texture with any surgery. Spider veins may form. It may become more oily. Every patient has a unique experience but these are not usual complaints or issues after a rhinoplasty as long as your surgeon elevates your nose skin in the proper depth. If your surgeon is too superficial and damages the muscle or fat or subcutaneous or dermis of your nose then problems with the nose skin can be expected.
