I was punched in the nose like 10 years ago and I believe it is my nasal bone which is crooked to the left a bit. The punch could have also deviated my septum.??? And lately have been thinking about it. Can rhinoplasty fix this or is it called something else (like nasal bone reconstruction). Obviously it is not too severe for I haven’t done anything about it in years. What would the price range be to have it straightened out.
If you had seeked treatment immediately after the injury within the first 5 to ten days then a “closed nasal reduction” is what would have most likely been done. But after the bone has healed and set, it has to be re-fractured which essentially is a form of rhinoplasty. The cost depends on what all needs to be done, what part of the country you are and who is doing it. It may range anywhere from just 3 or 4 thousand dollars to 10 to fifteen thousand dollars. Also, if the only thing needed is functional work then insurance MAY cover the costs. Many times as the nasal bones fracture and deviate, they pull the septum over with them or the septum may fracture as well. There is an intricate relationship between the septum and nasal pyramid (outer nose) which has to be undertstood and addressed at the same time for the best results.
