Question: When I look in the mirror, I notice that the creases in my nasolabial folds are becoming significantly more pronounced. I’m a 43-year-old woman. I recently read about fat injections. Would this procedure be able to address my specific problem? Are the results permanent? How does it compare with other facial fillers such as Artefill?
Answer: If you have never had a facial or dermal filler then you should start with something like Restylane, Juvederm or Perlane to make sure you like the results. Then you can proceed to Artefill or fat injections. Fat injections result in permanent “take” of a part of the injected fat – not all of the fat that is injected so the area has to be over injected which will create significant swelling for several weeks. The Hyaluronic Acid fillers are relatively the safest fillers and you can do that twice a year. Radiesse can also be done once a year as an alternative for your laugh lines.
