Hello Dr. Naderi,
I had a nose job done a few years ago by this doctor in CA, and right now, I can only breath one side of the nose but not be able to breath fully on the other side. Also, the nose is not straight. Do you also specialize in deviated symtoms (hope I spell right here) I mean breathing problem? Also, do you take insurance for this? If not, how much does it cost for me to have this procedure done so I can budget myself for this. Last question is that have you done any Asian nose before? If you can give me perhaps the estimate, it would be great. Thanks so much for your help Dr. Naderi
Nhi
Answer:
Dear Nhi,
I have done plenty of Asian noses and I do septal correction surgery many times a week. It is a part of my practice. A crooked nose is often due to a crooked septum as well as asymmetric external parts of the nose. Straightening the septum is very important in straightening the nose. Insurance should cover a very small portion of the surgery cost and about half of the hospital and anesthesia costs. But insurance does not always do or pay for what they should. That is why we discount the “functional” portion of the surgery when patients are getting cosmetic Rhinoplasty just to make it more reasonable for patients. Revision Rhinoplasty can cost anywhere from $6-20K or more. I cannot tell you what the cost will be without seeing at least some pictures and ideally examining you in person. If you can obtain the Operative Report from the previous surgeon, it would be very helpful to see if he had touched your septum during the first surgery. Revising a septum that has been operated on previously is often not advisable due to the possibility of tears and holes in the septum.
I would be happy to take a look at your pictures if you want to email them to me through here:
