How many rhinoplasties are too many? I’ve undergone a total of five procedures and I still don’t feel like the work of the first doctor has been sufficiently fixed. Is it still possible to have my nose fixed?
Answer:
Well ideally I would like to tell you that anything more than 1 rhinoplasty is too many but there are those patients who don’t heal as predictably as we desire so in about 5-10% of cases a minor touch up revision rhinoplasty may be needed to fine tune the results. However, there are also many patients who have had very poorly performed Rhinoplasties and they require a major revision because their results have little to do with healing and mostly to do with how the plastic surgeon performed the operation. I have seen patients who have had 5 or more Rhinoplasties and all were done poorly so their final rhinoplasty with me corrected most of the previous errors. I have also seen patients who have had 5 or more nose jobs and they are simply not happy with very nice results and they seek an unattainable perfection and I try to talk these patients out of another rhinoplasty. So the answer to your question is, “it depends!”
