Question: I spend most of my summers sailing and as a result, I have some areas of pre-cancerous keratoses that need to be removed. I have been told that a chemical peel will remove these areas. How long must I stay out of the sun after I have had a chemical peel?
Answer: Lighter chemical peels will not address these precancerous skin lesions. Deeper peels or CO2 laser is necessary which end up resulting in a 10-14 day down time and necessity for you to avoid sun for 4-12 months.
