I’m from Reston, VA, and I’d love to get a facelift but I’m worried that it will be obvious to people that I’ve had something done. Does this tend to happen?
The goal of a facelift is to provide a natural rejuvenated appearance to your face that still looks like you. Most of the improvement is along the jawline to correct the jowls and to improve the lax tissue in the neck. Most of the work in a facelift tightens the underlying tissue and should not give a “stretched” appearance, which can occur if the skin is tightened excessively. After the initial recovery period, many patients find that their friends and family can’t necessarily tell what is it about them that make them look better. The change may be more detectable in patients that require more work to be done. This is another reason not to put off your facelift too long if you are considering it now. To give a more definitive answer to your question about facelift outcomes, I would need to examine your skin quality and age related changes in one of my Washington, DC offices, located in Reston, Virginia or Chevy Chase, Maryland.
