I had septoplasty and it led to a septal perforation. How do you fix this?
Answer:
One of the risks of any septoplasty is septal perforation or a hole in the septum. Some plastic surgeons do very lousy work and destroy and tear up the septum but even with the best septoplasty the risk of a hole in the septum is there. Depending on the size and location various reconstructive methods may need to be used. I do not do this and would refer you to a plastic surgeon who does more free flap reconstructions of the nose.
