I recently heard of a new type of hyaluronic acid injectable filler. I don’t remember its name, but what is the difference between the injectable filers made of hyaluronic acid? There seem to be a lot of them.
Answer:
There are several different hyaluronic acid fillers that are made by different companies. While they all share a common basic component, hyaluronic acid, there are slight differences between them. The new hyaluronic acid filler is Belotero, which is made by Merz. Belotero’sconsistency and structure make it great for superficial injections to improve fine lines, such as those around the lips and eyes. It is also great in the under eye and tear trough hollowing. Other hyaluronic fillers are Restylane and Perlane, made by Medicis, and Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus made by Allergan. Perlane and Juvederm Ultra Plus are alittle thicker, and add more volume than Restylane and Juvederm Ultra, which makes them great for deep folds, cheeks and structural augmentation of the face. In areas such as the tear troughs or lips where the skin is thinner, Restylane and Juvederm Ultra may work better to create a natural appearance.
