Question: If I had a chemical peel on my face and upper chest, how long do the rejuvenating effects last? Is the skin reddened afterwards and for how long?
Answer: It all depends on your skin type and color and race and ethnicity as well as the type of chemical peel to your skin and the depth or concentration of the peel. Some chemical peels give you a little redness only, some actually peel you for 3-5 days while others are very deep and take 2 weeks to recover from. While the face can tolerate deeper chemical peels, the neck and chest cannot so your plastic surgeon or dermatologist doing the peel must be aware of this in order not to burn you.
