If I bring in a picture of myself from 10 or 20 years ago, can you make my facelift result turn back the clock so I look like that again?
Facelift surgery is a great procedure to tighten the lower portion of the face to improve the cheeks, jawline and neck. As we age, there are many changes that occur in our face. In addition to loosening of the tissue of our face and neck, there is volume loss throughout our face. Our skin also ages by becoming thinner and less elastic which contributes to wrinkles and significant texture changes. A facelift alone would most likely not be able reverse all these different signs of aging, but often takes many years off your appearance. If you have significant volume loss, then volume can be replaced with either injectable fillers or fat grafting. Skin changes can be improved with a resurfacing procedure such laser resurfacing, deep chemical peel or dermabrasion. The best way to determine what procedures are needed to provide the optimal result would be to evaluate you in one of greater Washington DC offices located in Reston, Virginia and Chevy Chase, Maryland.
