Question: Does a Botox injection hurt?
Answer: Pain is subjective. Botox injections aren’t “fun” but the vast majority of patients tolerate them very well. Topical numbing creams can be used as well as icepacks to slightly numb the area. Technique of the cosmetic surgeon is very important as are the actual types of needles. Most of my patients are very surprised when it seems like they are in much less pain, bruising and swelling with my botox inections compared to previous dermatologists who have injected them in the past.
