After blepharoplasty, can I expect the wrinkles around my eyes to be gone also?
Answer:
Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery removes excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. This surgery can significantly rejuvenate the upper and lower eyelids, but will not remove all the wrinkles surrounding the eyes. The “crows” feet wrinkles around the eyes are dynamic lines, occurring mainly with movement and expression. These lines can be treated with neurotoxins such as Botox or Dysport. Some of the fine lines and wrinkles in the lower lid will be improved if skin excision is performed with the lower lid blepharoplasty. Laser resurfacing or a chemical peel around the eyes is another great way to tighten the skin around the eyes and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, especially lines that are not dynamic.
