I had 4mm malar shell silcone implants and small 4mm premaxillary implant put in and then removed 3.5 weeks later. It has been 5 weeks and I have not returned to my pre op look. My lower face is fatter I have much worse marrionette lines and n/f also my nose is wider. I was told by one surgeon that the tissues may have descended from placement and removal.is this possible or is it more likely residual swelling? And the worsened lines and saggy skin will shrink back if so when? Also is it possible scar tissue formed and is leaving some augmentation in this short period of time?Thankyou for your input, I am starting to believe this is in fact not truly a reversible procedure.
Hi. Not many things are 100% reversible. The placement of a facial implant will create trauma and swelling and scar tissue and the act of raising the tissue off the bone to place the implants will change the soft tissue. Removing the implant will not take things back to exactly the way they were but perhaps very close to it. It is still too early. You will see changes for months as far as swelling and scar tissue resolution. Talk to your surgeon now but give it at least 6 months before you judge the results.
