Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is the least invasive dermatological procedure that has the fewest side effects. It is successfully used on all skin types, including sensitive skin, and it can be used on any skin color without causing discoloration of the skin. This painless exfoliating skin resurfacing requires no anesthetic and results in youthful, glowing, rejuvenated skin. At an initial consultation at the Maryland or Northern Virginia office locations, Dr. Naderi will analyze your skin to determine the instrument settings, depth of treatment and number of treatments to achieve the desired results. Using the skilled hands of a surgeon, Dr. Naderi then rejuvenates the skin of your face, neck, chest or hands by gently removing a very fine layer of dull and damaged epidermis, the outermost layer of skin. This treatment erases fine wrinkles and lines, diminishes acnes scars and stretch marks, treats sun-discolored skin such as age spots, and reduces facial pores.  The skin tone and texture improve immensely.

As youngsters, our skin reproduced quite rapidly. As we age, the skin cells turnover less rapidly. Older, damaged cells remain on the epidermis and can make our skin appear dull.  Microdermabrasion treatments at Dr. Naderi’s Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Care Clinics stimulate the growth of skin cells. This technology takes advantage of the priceless diamond. Tiny diamonds are permanently fixed to a wand that is used to scrape off the outermost epidermal cells called the stratum corneum. The exact pressure used and the number of times that the wand is passed over the skin is determined by your skilled physician. For example, treating acne scars requires more pressure and a deeper treatment than treating age spots. During a standard treatment session, Dr. Naderi  will make one to three passes with the diamond-tipped wand on the skin. Dead cells in the outermost layer are removed in under an hour. The removal of these dead skin cells stimulates the growth of new skin cells that make the entire area appear younger and smoother.

After microdermabrasion treatments, during which patients describe a tingling sensation, the treated areas may feel as though they are wind burned.
