INFORMATION ABOUT VIRTUAL PHONE/FACETIME CONSULTATIONS AND TRAVELLING TO SEE OUR DOCTORS
We have compiled some useful information below for our patients coming from international locations or areas outside of the immediate Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Chevy Chase, Maryland areas.
We will help guide you through the initial consultation process, logistics, and surgery scheduling, all the way through your post surgery recovery, and even after your return home. We start the “long distance consultation process” by determining your general needs and will have you email us pictures of the area/areas of concern for your specialist surgeon to review. After getting to know your general needs and receiving your pictures, we will set up a phone or FaceTime consultation. The phone consultation fee for rhinoplasty is $250. This fee also covers an in person consultation with Dr. Naderi, our rhinoplasty specialist to further discuss the surgical plan and for him to examine you. For Dr. Kulak, our face specialist, the phone consultation fee is $100 which would go towards your surgery or procedure. We ask that you be available to answer our call at the pre-arranged phone call time so you may take full advantage of the duration of your scheduled phone call appointment.
After you and your surgeon have decide on the best surgery or procedure for you, we will email you a price quote based on your phone consultation. Our caring and capable surgical coordinator will help with scheduling logistics and travel arrangements. In order to be able to fit your surgery into our doctors busy schedule we will schedule your surgery ahead of time and collect a surgical deposit of $500 so you have a guaranteed surgical spot. Full payment for your surgeon’s fee is due 2 weeks prior to your surgery date. You will also be responsible for completing your pre-op testing with your primary care doctor within 30 days of your surgery date to ensure that you are medically optimized for your surgical procedure. You will be meeting with your surgeon in person prior to your surgery date either 1-2 days prior upon arrival in our area or before that based on your travel plans. Final arrangements for surgery will be made once you’ve seen your surgeon in person.
For rhinoplasty, Dr. Naderi asks most of his patients to remain in town for about a week for you to be seen for the cast removal after which you can travel back home. A 1 month phone/FaceTime post-op appointment will also be scheduled to monitor your healing progress. For Dr. Kulak the duration of your stay will depend on which procedure you are having done and whether dissolvable sutures are used or not. The duration of your stay will be 5-10 days but exceptions can be made based on the surgical procedure and approach. Our doctors will closely monitor your healing progress after surgery and you will never be neglected before or after your procedure with Dr. Naderi, and Dr. Kulak. If for any reason you or your surgeon feel that the planned surgery is not in your best interest, we will gladly cancel the surgery and refund your surgical deposit fee. If changes to your surgical plan need to be made, then changes will be made if possible, or the surgery will be rescheduled. It is our goal to make this process as hassle-free and pleasant for you as possible. More importantly, it is our goal to ensure your safety when undergoing any procedure. In rare circumstances, your surgery may need to be cancelled. We know that this may pose a large inconvenience to you, but our number one goal is your safety. The most common reason for cancellation, is the discovery of a medical or surgical contraindication during the face to face consultation that was not revealed during the initial phone call consultation.
Our surgical coordinator will walk you through every aspect of scheduling logistics, surgery planning, and post-op coordination of care.
