Hi Marie, You are correct. Botox has been shown to help with patients who get head aches or TMJ problems (TMD) as a result of dental grinding. It usually takes higher doses than that used for cosmetic reasons in the forehead as the Masseter muscle is a large thick muscle. I have injected many patients' Masseters for cosmetic and functional reasons. Some Asian patients get Botox injections to this area to reduce the width of the jaw and gain a more balanced look.
