Are you someone who has considered changing an aspect of yourself? Maybe you have a feature that has bothered you for years. Maybe you just feel that your age has caught up with you and you want to look a little bit younger. Before undergoing a cosmetic procedure, you will surely have many questions and concerns. The best place to look for answers and calm your nerves is a good plastic surgeon, but in order to do that you will have to find the best surgeon for you.
Your surgeon’s qualifications and experience are of the utmost concern. Put some effort into learning about your surgeon’s qualifications. Your surgeon should be board certified in plastic surgery by either the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery. Sometimes, physicians in other specialties will do cosmetic procedures, but it is best that you find someone who truly specializes in what you want to do. Some surgeons specialize in facial plastic surgery procedures so, if you’re interested in a facelift or nose job or other facial procedure, you might want to consider a specialist. Further, a small handful of surgeons, like Dr. Naderi have particular expertise in a specific procedure, such as a rhinoplasty.

Our faces are our most visible part of ourselves. Faces also show our age to a greater degree than any other part of our bodies. There are many ways to rejuvenate the face, one of the most complete and popular being a facelift. A traditional facelift is an involved procedure, and involves a fairly significant recovery. Some people, either because they can’t afford the money or time involved in such a procedure, or because they simply want a quicker result, are turning to newer, less invasive options.
A full or complete facelift, the traditional type of facelift procedure, involves incisions along the hairline from the temples to around and behind the ears. Through these incisions, your surgeon can access the layers of muscle or connective tissue underneath the skin, lift them, and secure them in a lifted position, along with the outer layer of skin. This ensures a complete and natural result. Some patients are put off by the invasiveness and recovery time involved and, as a result, surgeons have been working on newer, less-invasive methods for achieving similar results.

There is a lot of information out there about aging. Unfortunately, it varies in its truth value. People often have anxiety about undergoing cosmetic procedures, whether it is about the invasiveness, the recovery time, or the expense. Because of this, they often look for the results without the downsides of the procedure, but unfortunately a number of myths are perpetuated about the efficacy of over-the-counter options.

Botox and injectable filler treatments are a safe and effective way to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and obtain fuller lips. That is, of course, when the procedure is performed correctly. Unfortunately many patients are being tricked by the allure of so called “experts” offering lower prices. Seminars are being offered to doctors and sometimes individuals who are non-licensed professionals. They promise that attendees will be able to incorporate injectable treatments into their practice in a matter of hours. These people then go on to perform the procedure without having undergone a full, proper training.
While it is not an overly complicated procedure, it is important that the person performing the injections is certified and well trained. There are many factors that come into play when performing a botulinum or dermal filler injection. Injectors need to know proper injection techniques and injection placement. They need to know how to make the experience painless. The technique should involve little time. The longer the doctor takes to inject the site, the more pain and swelling will occur. Training should also involve how to make a patient feel comfortable as well as extensive knowledge of possible side effects that can occur.

Let’s get one fact out of the way right at the start. In case you were in any doubt, the U.S. is the world leader in plastic surgery - or, at least, it leads the world by volume. In 2011, 17.2 percent of procedures carried out in the top 25 countries were performed in the US. That amounts to 1 million procedures, with the nearest competitor being Brazil, with an equally impressive 900,000 procedures.
These numbers were reported by the National Business Journal’s Morning Call round up, but what the article, and indeed the original report does not make clear, is how much the results are being skewed by plastic surgery tourism. Due to differences in regulation, and the opportunity to combine a vacation with a surgical procedure, many people choose to have their procedures carried out abroad.
drnaderi Chemical Peel Mon, 04/29/2013 - 08:24
For patients looking to renew the appearance of their faces, chemical peels can be a very effective treatment. As patients age, time and sun damage cause lines, wrinkles, dark spots, and often an uneven skin tone. Chemical peels treat these problems by stripping the outer layer of skin and allowing a new, fresher appearance to be revealed. However, the ultimate success of the treatment can depend on how the skin is cared for during recovery. As a patient, it is on you to follow your physician’s instructions in order to maximize your outcome.
The theme of your recovery should be to be gentle to your skin. You want to keep the old skin in place as long as possible, since it acts as a natural bandage for the new skin healing below. To do this, you should be very careful to keep the skin from drying out, including applying moisturizer many times throughout the day. Keeping the skin from drying out will also help avoid the tightness, cracking, and stinging that can occur during healing.

Botox injections are not just for women. In recent years, an increasing number of men have been seeking treatment to help minimize facial lines and wrinkles for a more youthful, rested appearance. In fact, Botox is currently the most popular cosmetic minimally-invasive procedure among male patients.
FDA-approved for the treatment of glabellar lines (frown lines), Botox is also commonly used to improve the appearance of crow’s feet, worry lines and lines on the neck. Botox can also be used to treat excessive sweating and gummy smiles, as well as migraine headaches and muscle spasms in the eyes and neck. Botox works by relaxing the underlying muscles associated with dynamic wrinkles, or those caused by repeated facial expression.

Mixing and Matching Treatments - Can I Have Surgical and Non-Invasive Procedures?
There’s a short answer - yes. Of course, it doesn’t stop there, as it’s not as simple as having a Botox filler, and then deciding to go for a full facelift; the procedures need to be compatible.
A good surgeon will be able to work with whatever is available, but it helps to have a plan ahead of time, and make sure that the surgeon knows what it is.

Botox for the Prevention of Wrinkles
Botox has become one of the most popular non-invasive wrinkle treatments currently available. While many think of it as a way to banish unsightly forehead creases and frown lines for those in their 40s and above, it is increasingly being used on individuals in their 20s and 30s for wrinkle prevention.
In fact, young celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Hilary Duff have reportedly been undergoing routine Botox injections to help prevent wrinkles. Unlike fillers which fill in and plump up static wrinkles that are etched in the skin, Botox relaxes the underlying muscles associated with certain expressions. It is commonly used in areas like the eyes, forehead, mouth and neck to improve crow’s feet, worry lines, frown lines and neck bands.
